So as Twitter starts to open up it’s messaging platform, LinkedIn locks it down even further in an attempt to push recruiters into premium services.
The new limits on group message are – if you have not seen them yet :-
-
You can only send 15 messages per month to individual group members (and these don’t roll over). This – oddly – includes messages to your first connections if you choose to send them via a group
-
You have to be a member of the group for 4 days before you can send a message to members of that group.
-
You need to be a member of LinkedIn for 30 days before to send a message to group members.
Remember – LinkedIn InMail response rate is poor – on average 25%. So my recommendation is not to pay for these. Instead:-
- Phone first
- Facebook, Twitter or Hangouts second
- Email third
And you will see improved candidate response rates.
